no2co2 is a climate change research and analysis body which aims at empowering individuals, civic communities, political leaders, environmental leaders, and institutions with resources in order for them to accurately Realise, measurably Minimise, and effectively Neutralise their impact on climate change. This is achieved through engaging in grass-root level analysis of India-specific emission patterns from individual or entity sources combined with suitable dispersion of outcomes in order to facilitate climate change centered social engagement movements or enable high-value policy level recommendations for civic and government institutions.
Having logged over 4000 citizens on the first India-specific indigenous carbon footprint calculator, no2co2 strives to elevate climate change from a narrow environmental issue to a state of climate change responsibility, accountability, solutions awareness and participation in the pursuit of limiting global temperature rise to 2 degrees centigrade relative to pre-industrial levels by year 2100, in accordance with it's vision statement.
NO2CO2Wind is a form of solar energy. Winds are caused by the uneven heating of the atmosphere by the sun, the irregularities of the earth's surface, and rotation of the earth. Wind flow patterns are modified by the earth's terrain, bodies of water, and vegetation. Humans use this wind flow, or motion energy, for many purposes: sailing, flying a kite, and even generating electricity. The terms wind energy or wind power describe the process by which the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity.
Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power. This mechanical power can be used for specific tasks (such as grinding grain or pumping water) or a generator can convert this mechanical power into electricity. So how do wind turbines make electricity? Simply stated, a wind turbine works the opposite of a fan. Instead of using electricity to make wind, like a fan, wind turbines use wind to make electricity. The wind turns the blades, which spin a shaft, which connects to a generator and makes electricity. Wind energy is fueled by the wind, so it's a clean fuel source. Wind energy doesn't pollute the air like power plants that rely on combustion of fossil fuels, such as coal or natural gas. Wind turbines don't produce atmospheric emissions that cause acid rain or greenhouse gasses.
"I promise to switch off my car or bike engine whenever I stop at a traffic signal of more than 30 seconds. Even if I am in a taxi or an auto-rickshaw, I will ask the driver to switch off his engine until the traffic signal turns green again."
